Welcome to the City of Dunbar. On these pages you will find information on our city, it's history, the parks and amenities that make it a wonderful place to visit and live, and the various departments, which make up the city government.
The City of Dunbar is known as a family friendly city with a small town atmosphere. We are also known as the "Hub of the Valley", due to the ease and short drive to almost anything you want or need.
The City's Park and Recreation Department also plans many events throughout the year, such as the Fall Festival, The Commode Bowl Parade, Critter Dinner, Easter Egg Hunt, and Kids Day in the Park, Christmas Parade, Halloween Party, and many other with new events that will be added this year. You will also want to visit our Wine Cellar Park, fish in Lake Anderson, our 7 acre lake, and take a ride on the Sternwheeler up and down the Kanawha River, and enjoy the shelters and picnic areas in our city parks.
